Hello, my name is Christopher, I’ve taught Science and Mathematics for over 15 years. I’ve taught at some of the most prestigious schools in the UK including City of London School for Girls and Highgate School. I established a tuition business back in 2005, after graduating from Oxford University (Worcester College 2001 – 2005), with a Masters in Chemistry. Professionally, I have served as a consultant within the environmental science/engineering sector for large multinational corporations.

‘Christopher Tooze Tuition’ began as a part time venture, whilst I worked as a consultant for a globally recognised environmental science and engineering cooperation. As demand for my tuition services grew and grew, bespoke, private tuition became my primary occupation in 2008. By then I had helped numerous students reach their full potential and go on to achieve academic excellence.

By the start of the 2012 – 2013 academic year, CT Tuition had become well established across South East and South West Wales, at which point my tuition services were introduced to London. During the following two years, I also worked as a Mathematics and Science teacher at City of London School for Girls, before taking up my next teaching post at Highgate School in 2015. The start of 2020 saw my tuition services go predominantly online, bringing us to the present day, where I continue to offer Science and Maths tuition to students around the world.

Approach to Tutoring

With over a 15 years tuition experience, an in-depth knowledge of all the major examination boards and an extensive list of references to call upon, I believe I am well placed to help you with your tuition needs. My aim is to get the very best out of tutees using a variety of teaching methods with a strong emphasis on exam technique. I have helped tutees of all ages and abilities on a one-to-one basis as well as within small groups. I am flexible and adaptable in my approach to teaching, and endeavour to create a learning environment in which the tutee can thrive. I am easy-going and approachable – questions from tutees are encouraged as much as possible; I believe this is absolutely paramount if a solid understanding of a topic is to be achieved. Subjects are taught according to exact curriculum requirements. Knowledge is tested through regular homework and past paper questions.
